The 18 pound Carbon V-Bank Filter in the PR20.0 High Capacity Commercial Air Cleaner for Smoke and Odor Removal is Superior in removing offensive odors and gases including tobacco smoke, cigar smoke, and cigarette smoke. It’s ideal for removing molecular contaminants in commercial buildings, airports, hospitals, VFW halls, and bingo halls, as well as many other commercial and light industrial applications. With 18 pounds of activated carbon plus its unique construction, the V-Bank filter outperforms most other smoke eaters and commercial air cleaners.

The PR20.0 High Capacity Commercial Air Cleaner for Smoke and Odor Removal is designed to drop into a suspended ceiling. It replaces either (1) 2′ x 4′ tile or (2) 2′ x 2′ tiles from the suspended ceiling. To install the PR20.0 flush mount air cleaner easily, the clearance above the suspended ceiling needs to be at least 18-inches, and is recommended that the air cleaner is installed in areas that do not exceed a 12-foot ceiling height. The weight of the system does not rest on the ceiling grids but is secured above the suspended ceiling to a permanent structure such as a joist or beam. All filters in the PR20.0 High Capacity Commercial Air Cleaner for Smoke and Odor Removal are accessible from the louvered door and hinged door on the face of the system. 1 unit recommended for every 8,000 cubic feet.

How does the PR20.0 High Capacity Commercial Air Cleaner for Smoke and Odor Removal work?…

The PR20.0 Flush Mount High Efficiency/Carbon Smoke Eater uses a powerful blower to draw the air from smoke-filled areas. As the air is drawn through the high-efficiency filter media, 95% of the tobacco smoke particles are removed on each pass. The clean air that is constantly discharged into the area is refreshing and remarkably free of tobacco smoke and other contaminants. This is particularly beneficial in lounges and restaurants because it reduces the need for segregated smoking areas.

3 Filter System Provides Superior Air Cleaning Results

Stage 1 – Pre-Filter
The 1/2-inch polyester pre-filter removes large particles such as lint, hair, dust, and pollen. The pre-filter is important because it helps prolong the life of the High Efficiency filter in the system. Essentially, the pre-filter is the first line of defense in maintaining your system.
Twelve (12) Polyester pre-filters are included with each unit. Pre-filters cannot be washed and must be changed monthly.

Stage 2 – 18 Pound Carbon V-Bank Filter
The 18 pound Carbon V-Bank Filter in the PR20.0 is an excellent choice when the need to control tobacco smells is required – including cigar & cigarette odors, and marijuana odors. Activated Carbon removes odors by absorbing gases & VOCs into the porous carbon granules. Think of carbon as an ‘odor sponge’. It can hold many times its weight in odor molecules. However, once carbon becomes saturated it loses its efficiency. Thus, proper maintenance of the carbon filter is required to keep your environment fresh & clean smelling.
One (1) 18 Pound Carbon V-Bank is included with each unit. The Carbon V-Bank Filter cannot be washed and should be changed annually.

Stage 3 – High Efficiency Filter
The High Efficiency filter removes very small particles, such as smoke from tobacco (including hookah, cigarette, cigar & marijuana smoke), burning wood, oil, rosin, dust mites, spores, mold spores, pollen, spray paint, spray paint dust, ashes, cement dust, auto emissions, textile fibers, fiberglass, hairspray, insecticide dust, copier toner, and most viruses, just to name a few. As you can see, the High Efficiency filter is extremely important. When used and maintained properly, it will dramatically improve your indoor air quality.
One (1) 6-inch High Efficiency Filter is supplied with each PR20.0 Smoke Eater. For best results, the High Efficiency filter cannot be washed and should be changed annually.

OPTIONAL – Remote Control
Easily control the settings on your PR20.0 Smoke Eater with a handy Remote Control Key Fob. If your Smoke Eater is installed in an awkward area or is too high to reach, the remote control is an excellent choice. Each receiver is factory installed and comes with 2 battery-operated remote control key fobs. (Multiple air cleaners require a separate receiver/transmitter for each unit.) The receiver/transmitter range is approximately 100 feet under normal operating conditions.
